The upper bearing was a Fafnir S10KDD and was shot. R16-2RS R16-ZZ bearings are $3.50 each. The lower bearings were SKF 6008 Z and were not perfect. 6008 Z bearings are $10 each on Ebay. There was a .005" shim between the inner races of the the lower bearings. I don't think any of the bearings were original.

The Rockwell is R8, the Clausing is Morse Taper #2. A used Rockwell, Clausing, or small Bridgeport in reasonable condition. are all good choices, as is a new Enco knee mill. Expect to pay $1200 ~ $2400. Be warned that the 4" Kurt vice costs too much, and the 6" is too big. for the Rockwell and Clausing.
